The Battle

My brain is a battlefield with no way out
My sole has a purpose without a doubt
Logic knows the way that I must go
But fear steps in just to tell me no

Everyday I hear these two fighting in my head
There's nothing I can do, there's no ground to tread
I don't know what to say, I don't know what to think
To make these things stop and just shrink

To live with these things is bearly living at all
It won't let you move, it's just like hitting a wall
I hope to soon be rid of this pain
But for now I'll be here sitting in this rain

But one thing that helps me through all my days
Is my friend who's there for me in so many ways
She brightens even my darkest of times
And I wish we could see each other even sometimes

Even though we're cities apart
She's very close to me inside my heart
A big part of my life she is to me
Now and forever, that will always be
